Skanda
Tirtha: Amṛteśa (first in the forthcoming series)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Mahāmuni
Scene: Skanda, radiant and youthful, addresses a great sage in an āśrama-like setting, beginning a new enumeration of Kāśī liṅgas; the word ‘Amṛteśa’ is visually suggested by a nectar pot (amṛta-kalaśa) near a liṅga shrine vignette.
In Kāśī, even remembrance and naming of Śiva’s Liṅgas is portrayed as spiritually transformative and life-transcending.
The discourse introduces Kāśī’s Liṅgas, explicitly beginning with Amṛteśa.
Implicitly, nāma-smaraṇa (recitation/remembering the name) is praised as conferring amṛta-like merit.
