Narada
Vrata: Dīpa-vidhi / Dīpa-dāna (lamp rite) for Kārtavīrya (contextual)
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: shanta
The verse frames ritual action as spiritually protective: through prescribed offerings (tarpaṇa) and repelling acts, harmful influences are driven away, and the text transitions to the dīpa-vidhi—lamp worship as a dharmic safeguard and merit-producing practice.
By introducing the dīpa-vidhi, it points to devotion expressed through upacāra (ritual service). Offering light is a classic bhakti-act—external worship that supports inner reverence, purity, and steadiness of mind.
It highlights applied ritual procedure (kalpa-style practice) within the Vedanga/technical section: how specific acts like tarpaṇa and lamp-rites are used for protection and auspiciousness in a household setting.
