The Greatness of the Gaṅgā
sa kadācidguṇanidhiḥ praṇipatya svamātaram | uvāca prāñjalirbhūtvā sagaro vinayānvitaḥ || 16 ||
Sagara
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It highlights vinaya (humility) and pranipata (reverent bowing) as foundational dharmic virtues—inner purity expressed through respectful conduct toward one’s mother/elders.
Though not directly about Vishnu-bhakti, it models the bhakti principle of surrender and reverence: folded hands and humility train the heart for devotion and receptivity to guidance.
No specific Vedanga (like Vyakarana or Jyotisha) is taught in this verse; the practical takeaway is sadachara—formal etiquette such as pranjali and pranipata used in Vedic culture during respectful dialogue.
