Sanatkumara (in instruction to Narada)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It emphasizes ritual purity and inner recollection together: after bathing, one steadies the mind by meditating on the Sun (Vivasvān) and then adopts clean attire, aligning external cleanliness with inward focus.
Though framed as a daily observance, the act of dhyāna on Vivasvān trains steady remembrance (smaraṇa). Such disciplined remembrance supports bhakti by making worship a lived, repeated practice rather than a sporadic act.
It reflects kalpa (ritual procedure) within Vedāṅga: the ordered sequence of snāna, mental contemplation, and donning clean garments as part of daily rites like Sandhyā-vandana.
