Alamkara Type: Upama (kashthavat—like wood)
Concept: Ishvara-samlinata with abhimana-kshaya as the hallmark of samadhi; outward inertness is a sign, not the essence.
Application: Cultivate non-appropriation (‘not mine, not I’) during meditation; evaluate progress by reduction of reactive identification rather than by trance-like rigidity.

Primary Rasa: Shanta
Secondary Rasa: Adbhuta

Sandhi Resolution Notes: cābhimanyate = ca + abhimanyate; kiñcinna = kiñcit + na; evamīśvara- = evam + īśvara-.

Yoga-vidyā: it defines the diagnostic mark of samādhi—absence of egoic identification (abhimāna) and cessation of outward cognition, culminating in absorption into Īśvara.
Alongside its ritual, polity, and śāstra material, the Agni Purana also codifies practical yogic criteria—here, a concise phenomenology of samādhi—showing its coverage of liberation-oriented disciplines.
By indicating the dissolution of ‘I/mine’ (abhimāna) and full God-absorption, the verse points to purification of karma through non-attachment and the inner stillness that supports mokṣa.
