The Slaying of Andhaka and the Manifestation of the Eight Mother-Goddesses from Divine Afflictions

एताभिर्देवताभिश्च तस्य रक्तेऽतिशोषिते । क्षयं गताऽसुरी माया स च सिद्धोऽन्धकोऽभवत् ॥ एतत्ते सर्वमाख्यातमात्मविद्यामृतं मया ॥ २७.३६ ॥

etābhir devatābhiś ca tasya rakte ’tiśoṣite | kṣayaṃ gatā ’surī māyā sa ca siddho ’ndhako ’bhavat | etat te sarvam ākhyātam ātmavidyāmṛtaṃ mayā || 27.36 ||

Apabila darahnya telah terlalu kering oleh para dewa itu, kuasa ilusi asura pun musnah; dan dia—Andhaka—menjadi seorang yang sempurna (siddha). Segala hal ini telah aku jelaskan kepadamu sepenuhnya sebagai “nektar pengetahuan diri” (ātma-vidyā).
