Varaha Purana 146.84 — Adhyaya 146, Shloka 84

The Greatness of Hṛṣīkeśa at Rurukṣetra: The Origin Narrative of Ruru and the Sacred Site

गण्डकीसङ्गमे स्नात्वा सन्तर्प्य पितृर्देवताः ॥ विष्णुं शिवं च सम्पूज्य तपःस्थानं विचिन्तयन्

gaṇḍakīsaṃgame snātvā santarpya pitṛdevatāḥ || viṣṇuṃ śivaṃ ca sampūjya tapaḥsthānaṃ vicintayan

Setelah mandi di pertemuan sungai Gaṇḍakī, dia menenteramkan para leluhur dan para dewa dengan tarpaṇa serta persembahan; lalu memuja Viṣṇu dan Śiva menurut tatacara yang benar, sambil merenungkan tempat yang sesuai untuk bertapa.
