Skanda Purana — Prabhasa Khanda, Shloka 65

ऋषय ऊचुः । इहागत्य नरो यस्तु त्रिरात्रोपोषितः शुचिः । कृत्वा स्नानं पितॄंस्तर्प्य श्राद्धं कुर्यात्समाहितः

ṛṣaya ūcuḥ | ihāgatya naro yastu trirātropoṣitaḥ śuciḥ | kṛtvā snānaṃ pitṝṃstarpya śrāddhaṃ kuryātsamāhitaḥ

Para resi berkata: “Sesiapa yang datang ke sini, tetap suci dan berpuasa (upavāsa) selama tiga malam—sesudah mandi, mempersembahkan tarpaṇa (libasi) kepada para leluhur, hendaklah ia melaksanakan śrāddha dengan hati yang terhimpun.”
