अन्वकुर्वन्नुलूकाश्च वायसान्वृष्णिवेश्मसु । अजाः शिवानां च रुतमन्वकुर्वत भामिनि

anvakurvannulūkāśca vāyasānvṛṣṇiveśmasu | ajāḥ śivānāṃ ca rutamanvakurvata bhāmini

Di rumah-rumah kaum Vṛṣṇi, burung hantu mula bersahut-sahutan menjawab gagak. Bahkan kambing pun meniru bunyi seram serigala hutan—wahai wanita jelita—sebagai tanda-tanda sial.
