गौतम उवाच । येन कर्मविपाकेनन प्रेतो जायते नरः । तन्मे वदत निःशेषं कौतुकं मेऽत्र विद्यते

gautama uvāca | yena karmavipākenana preto jāyate naraḥ | tanme vadata niḥśeṣaṃ kautukaṃ me'tra vidyate

Gautama berkata: “Dengan hasil masak karma yang bagaimana seseorang tidak menjadi preta? Katakanlah kepadaku dengan lengkap; besar sekali rasa ingin tahuku tentang hal ini.”
