पुराणमेकमेवासीत्तस्मिन्कल्पान्तरेतथा । त्रिवर्गसाधनं पुण्यं शतकोटिप्रविस्तरम्
purāṇamekamevāsīttasminkalpāntaretathā | trivargasādhanaṃ puṇyaṃ śatakoṭipravistaram
Dalam kitaran zaman dahulu itu, Purāṇa sesungguhnya hanya satu. Ia suci, menjadi sarana mencapai tiga tujuan hidup (trivarga), dan amat luas—terbentang hingga seratus koṭi (bait/ukuran).
