martyānpitṝṃśca devāṃśca tena bhūrnikṣubhā smṛtā | yathā rājñī ca saṃjātā yasya ceyaṃ sutā matā
Oleh kerana ia memelihara manusia, para Pitṛ dan juga para dewa, maka Bumi dikenang sebagai ‘Nikṣubhā’—yang menangkis kelaparan. Dan ia dianggap sebagai puteri kepada asal yang daripadanya ia muncul, sebagaimana seorang permaisuri lahir dalam keturunan diraja.
