Skanda (deduced from Dvārakā Māhātmya narrative style within Skanda Purāṇa)
Tirtha: Sarva-tīrtha (collective)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Dvija-s (brāhmaṇas)
Scene: A grand symbolic tableau: countless tīrthas and temples appear as luminous icons around a central devotee performing the Dvādaśī observance; in the background, a vast yajña arena with many fires is shown as being ‘matched’ by the single act of devotion.
The Purāṇas magnify devotional observances by equating them with vast sacrificial and charitable acts performed across holy places.
Not one site but the totality of holy tīrthas and devatā-temples is invoked to measure the magnitude of the fruit.
The verse references yajña, vrata, and dāna as benchmarks of merit, implying the earlier vigil-worship matches them in fruit.
