“Apa jua sedekah yang kami beri, tapa yang kami lakukan, persembahan api yang kami hulurkan, dan japa mantra yang kami lantunkan—semuanya menjadi sia-sia. Kerana kami mengamalkan vrata Dvādaśī dengan śalya, yakni noda yang mencemari, maka kami sampai ke kelahiran sebagai Preta.”
