स्तनं धयन्तीं सुस्निग्धां शिशोः क्षीरानुरागिणः । सा तेन विद्धा बाणेन सहसा नतपर्वणा
stanaṃ dhayantīṃ susnigdhāṃ śiśoḥ kṣīrānurāgiṇaḥ | sā tena viddhā bāṇena sahasā nataparvaṇā
Rusa betina itu dengan lembut menyusukan anaknya, si anak terpaut pada susu ibunya. Namun tiba-tiba ia terkena anak panahnya, pada batang yang berlekuk bengkok di bahagian takuk.
