श्रीमार्कंडेय उवाच । आक्षिप्तस्ताडितो वापि यमुद्दिश्य त्यजेदसून् । स्त्रीजनो वा द्विजो वापि तस्य पापं तु तद्भवेत्
śrīmārkaṃḍeya uvāca | ākṣiptastāḍito vāpi yamuddiśya tyajedasūn | strījano vā dvijo vāpi tasya pāpaṃ tu tadbhavet
Śrī Mārkaṇḍeya bersabda: “Walau dihina atau dipukul, jika seseorang—sama ada wanita atau brāhmaṇa—melepaskan nyawa dengan mengingati si penyerang itu, maka dosa kematian itu jatuh kepada orang yang menyebabkannya.”
