Skanda Purana — Nagara Khanda, Shloka 48

वायवस्तत्र वाद्यं च चक्रुः सुस्वरमोजसा । महेन्द्रो वंशवाद्यं च सुगिरं सुस्वरं बहुः

vāyavastatra vādyaṃ ca cakruḥ susvaramojasā | mahendro vaṃśavādyaṃ ca sugiraṃ susvaraṃ bahuḥ

Di sana para Vāyu memainkan alat muzik dengan tenaga, menghasilkan bunyi yang mantap dan merdu. Mahendra pula meniup seruling buluh, melahirkan banyak nada yang manis dan beralun.
