चातुर्मास्येऽव्रती यस्तु तस्य पुण्यं निरर्थकम् । सर्वतीर्थानि दानानि पुण्यान्यायतनानि च

cāturmāsye'vratī yastu tasya puṇyaṃ nirarthakam | sarvatīrthāni dānāni puṇyānyāyatanāni ca

Namun sesiapa yang tidak berikrar nazar pada Cāturmāsya, maka pahala kebajikannya menjadi sia-sia. Bahkan hasil semua tīrtha, sedekah, dan segala tempat kebajikan pun tidak berkesan baginya tanpa disiplin itu.
