विभक्तिरहितं श्राद्धं क्रियते वा विपर्ययात् । अकृतं तद्विजानीयात्पितृणां नोपतिष्ठति
vibhaktirahitaṃ śrāddhaṃ kriyate vā viparyayāt | akṛtaṃ tadvijānīyātpitṛṇāṃ nopatiṣṭhati
Jika śrāddha dilakukan tanpa akhiran kasus yang tepat—atau tersalah hingga terbalik penggunaannya—ketahuilah bahawa upacara itu seakan-akan belum dilakukan; ia tidak sampai dan tidak memuaskan para Pitṛ (leluhur).
