pitṝṇāṃ sarvadeveśa ityeṣā vaidikī śrutiḥ | na snātasyādhikāro'sti devānāṃ ca dvijātivat
“Demi para Pitṛ hendaklah dilakukan, wahai Tuhan segala dewa”—demikianlah ajaran Veda. Orang yang belum mandi tidak mempunyai kelayakan ritual; demikian juga dalam hal para dewa, wahai dvija (yang dua kali lahir).
