Skanda Purana — Nagara Khanda, Shloka 123

पितॄणां वांछता तृप्तिं कालेष्वेतेषु यत्नतः । गयायां च विशेषेण लोकद्वयमभीप्सता

pitṝṇāṃ vāṃchatā tṛptiṃ kāleṣveteṣu yatnataḥ | gayāyāṃ ca viśeṣeṇa lokadvayamabhīpsatā

Sesiapa yang menginginkan kepuasan para Pitṛ hendaklah dengan bersungguh-sungguh melaksanakan upacara pada waktu-waktu yang tepat ini—terutama di Gayā—jika ia mendambakan kesejahteraan di kedua-dua alam (dunia ini dan akhirat).
