Skanda Purana — Nagara Khanda, Shloka 19

अयं गुणविहीनोऽपि प्रख्यातो भुवनत्रये । हराराधनमासाद्य यस्मात्तस्माद्वयं हरम् । तदर्थे तोषयिष्यामः साम्यं येन प्रजायते

ayaṃ guṇavihīno'pi prakhyāto bhuvanatraye | harārādhanamāsādya yasmāttasmādvayaṃ haram | tadarthe toṣayiṣyāmaḥ sāmyaṃ yena prajāyate

“Walaupun dia tidak mempunyai jasa kebajikan, dia menjadi masyhur di tiga alam—kerana telah mencapai pemujaan kepada Hara (Śiva). Maka kami juga akan menenangkan dan memperkenan Hara demi tujuan itu, agar terbit kesetaraan martabat rohani.”
