Skanda Purana — Nagara Khanda, Shloka 37

चन्दनागुरुकाष्ठैश्च चितिं कृत्वा सुविस्तराम् । न्यदधुस्तस्य तद्गात्रं तत्र दक्षिणदिङ्मुखम्

candanāgurukāṣṭhaiśca citiṃ kṛtvā suvistarām | nyadadhustasya tadgātraṃ tatra dakṣiṇadiṅmukham

Mereka membina unggun pembakaran jenazah (citi) yang luas daripada kayu cendana dan kayu aguru, lalu meletakkan jasadnya di atasnya dengan wajah menghadap ke arah selatan.
