व्यस्य वेदान्महाबुद्धिर्नाना शाखा प्रभेदतः । अष्टादशपुराणानि सूतादीन्परिपाठ्य च

vyasya vedānmahābuddhirnānā śākhā prabhedataḥ | aṣṭādaśapurāṇāni sūtādīnparipāṭhya ca

Vyāsa yang berakal agung menyusun Veda-Veda menjadi pelbagai śākhā dan pembahagian; dan beliau juga mengatur agar lapan belas Purāṇa diajarkan serta dilagukan bacaannya dengan tertib oleh Sūta dan yang lain-lain.
