Skanda Purana — Kashi Khanda, Shloka 130

गृहाद्बहुगुणा यस्मात्संध्या बहिरुपासिता । गायत्र्यभ्यासमात्रोपि वरं विप्रो जितेंद्रियः

gṛhādbahuguṇā yasmātsaṃdhyā bahirupāsitā | gāyatryabhyāsamātropi varaṃ vipro jiteṃdriyaḥ

Oleh sebab upāsanā Sandhyā yang dilakukan di luar rumah menghasilkan pahala berkali ganda berbanding di dalam rumah, maka bahkan sekadar amalan japa Gāyatrī pun lebih utama—apabila dilakukan oleh brāhmaṇa yang menundukkan inderia.
