स्कंद उवाच । दक्षिणाब्धितटे कश्चित्सेतुबंधसमीपतः । वणिग्धनंजयो नाम मातृभक्तिसमन्वितः

skaṃda uvāca | dakṣiṇābdhitaṭe kaścitsetubaṃdhasamīpataḥ | vaṇigdhanaṃjayo nāma mātṛbhaktisamanvitaḥ

Skanda bersabda: Di pesisir lautan selatan, dekat Setubandha, tinggal seorang pedagang bernama Dhanaṃjaya, yang dikurniai bhakti kepada ibunya.
