Narrator (contextual Purāṇic voice addressing a king)
Scene: A moral tableau: figures showing anger/greed in the background, while the same community performs dawn bathing, gives alms, and practices restraint; contrast of impulses and discipline.
Even when flaws like greed and anger appear, dharma is upheld through charity, purity-practices, and restraint of the senses.
The Dharmāraṇya setting frames the teaching, but no single named tirtha is praised in this verse.
Snāna (ritual bathing) and dāna (charity), along with allied observances, supported by indriya-nigraha (sense control).
