तमेवाराधयिष्यामि निरंजनमकल्मषः । एवं कृत्वा मतिं दैत्य स्तपस्तेपे सुदुष्करम् । भीतो जन्मभयाद्घोराद्दुष्करं यन्महात्मभिः
tamevārādhayiṣyāmi niraṃjanamakalmaṣaḥ | evaṃ kṛtvā matiṃ daitya stapastepe suduṣkaram | bhīto janmabhayādghorādduṣkaraṃ yanmahātmabhiḥ
“Dia sahaja akan aku sembah—Yang Niranjana, suci tanpa noda, bebas kekotoran.” Dengan tekad demikian, si Daitya menempuh tapa yang amat sukar, didorong oleh ketakutan dahsyat akan kelahiran berulang—ujian yang berat bahkan bagi para mahātma.
