श्रीहनुमानुवाच । ब्रह्मरक्षोवधाज्जाता मम हत्या महेश्वर । न पापोऽहं भवेदेव युष्मत्सम्भाषणे क्षणात्
śrīhanumānuvāca | brahmarakṣovadhājjātā mama hatyā maheśvara | na pāpo'haṃ bhavedeva yuṣmatsambhāṣaṇe kṣaṇāt
Śrī Hanūmān berkata: “Wahai Maheśvara, kerana membunuh seorang brahmarākṣasa, dosa pembunuhan telah timbul padaku. Wahai Deva, semoga selepas berbicara dengan-Mu aku tidak kekal berdosa walau sesaat.”
Hanūmān
Scene: Hanūmān speaks candidly to Maheśvara: having slain a brahmarākṣasa, he fears the taint of killing and begs to be free of sin immediately through Shiva’s presence and words.
Even the mighty seek purification—acknowledging fault and turning to Śiva with sincerity is itself a path to cleansing.
The Revā Khaṇḍa setting implies Narmadā tīrthas as places where confession, darśana, and devotion lead to purification.
No formal rite is stated here; the verse highlights śaraṇāgati (seeking refuge) and the purifying power of dialogue/darśana with Śiva.
