Skanda Purana — Avanti Khanda, Shloka 10

ततो ह्येकार्णवं सर्वं विभज्य परमेश्वरः । विस्तीर्णोपलतोयौघां सरित्सरविवर्धिताम्

tato hyekārṇavaṃ sarvaṃ vibhajya parameśvaraḥ | vistīrṇopalatoyaughāṃ saritsaravivardhitām

Kemudian Parameśvara membahagikan lautan tunggal yang meliputi segalanya; lalu Baginda menzahirkan hamparan air di bumi—arus yang luas di atas batu-batu dan derasnya aliran, bertambah oleh sungai-sungai serta tasik-tasik.
