एवमुक्तास्ततः सर्वे ब्राह्मणाः कृतनिश्चयाः । निराहाराः स्थिताः शर्वे यत्र नष्टो हुताशनः
evamuktāstataḥ sarve brāhmaṇāḥ kṛtaniścayāḥ | nirāhārāḥ sthitāḥ śarve yatra naṣṭo hutāśanaḥ
Setelah demikian diucapkan, semua brāhmaṇa pun bertekad teguh; mereka berdiri berpuasa di tempat yang sama, tempat hutāśana—api yajña—telah lenyap.
Narrator (contextual narration within Revā Khaṇḍa)
Tirtha: Revā-tīrtha (Narmadā)
Type: kshetra
Scene: Nightfall at the sacrificial ground: brāhmaṇas stand or sit in meditation around the empty fire-pit, fasting, with darbha mats and water pots; the river glimmers nearby, and the atmosphere is charged with expectation.
When sacred order is disturbed, tapas (disciplined austerity) and unwavering resolve become a purifying remedy.
The verse emphasizes the ritual locus (where Agni vanished) within the Revā Khaṇḍa setting rather than naming a specific tīrtha.
Nirāhāra (fasting) undertaken by brāhmaṇas as a remedial vow to discover and correct the cause of yajña disruption.
