Tirtha: Any declared tīrtha within Revā Khaṇḍa (universal rule)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Yudhiṣṭhira
Scene: A pilgrim at a riverbank sits in upoṣaṇa (fasting) with a water pot, offering a simple lamp; the narrator indicates that fasting itself yields kṛcchra-level fruit at any tīrtha.
Self-restraint at sacred places magnifies merit; fasting is portrayed as a powerful enhancer of tīrtha fruits.
The statement is general—applicable to any tīrtha discussed in the Revā Khaṇḍa narrative.
Upoṣaṇa (fasting) at a tīrtha is recommended as a means to gain kṛcchra-like fruit, even increased merit.
