या गता त्वां परित्यज्य भूतले सुप्रतिष्ठिता । इमां च प्रेक्षसे विप्र नर्मदां सरितां वराम्

yā gatā tvāṃ parityajya bhūtale supratiṣṭhitā | imāṃ ca prekṣase vipra narmadāṃ saritāṃ varām

Dia yang telah pergi meninggalkanmu kini teguh bersemayam di atas bumi. Dan sekarang, wahai Brāhmana, engkau menyaksikan Narmadā ini—yang paling utama antara segala sungai.
