सर्वसत्त्वोपकाराय बृहते पुण्यलक्षणा । रेवानदी तु विख्याता न मृता तेन नर्मदा
sarvasattvopakārāya bṛhate puṇyalakṣaṇā | revānadī tu vikhyātā na mṛtā tena narmadā
Demi kebajikan semua makhluk, sungai ini agung dan bertanda kesucian; ia masyhur dengan nama ‘Revā’. Ia ‘tidak mati’—maka sebab itu ia disebut ‘Narmadā’.
