śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca | tataḥ sa muniśārdūlastānuvāca tapodhanān | doṣataḥ kiṃ gamiṣyāmi na hi me'nyo parādhyati
Type: kshetra
Listener: Tapodhana sages (tān…tapodhanān)
Scene: Śrī Markaṇḍeya, serene yet grave, addressing the assembled sages; his posture conveys humility and inner steadiness, with a quiet aura of tapas.
The verse stresses self-accountability: suffering is not blamed on others but understood through one’s own doṣa and karma.
No single tirtha is named in this line; the Revā Khaṇḍa’s sacred setting remains implicit.
None; it is an ethical framing that often precedes expiation or remedial dharma in the continuing narrative.
