इत्युक्तः शङ्करस्तेन ब्राह्मणेनातिविस्मितः । उवाच ब्राह्मणं देव इदानीं त्वमितो गतः
ityuktaḥ śaṅkarastena brāhmaṇenātivismitaḥ | uvāca brāhmaṇaṃ deva idānīṃ tvamito gataḥ
Apabila disapa demikian oleh brāhmaṇa itu, Śaṅkara amat terhairan. Lalu Tuhan bersabda kepada brāhmaṇa: “Sekarang katakan—dari mana engkau datang ke tempat ini?”
