एवमुक्तः स मार्कण्डः कथयामास योगवित् । ध्यात्वा सनातनं सर्वं देवदेवं महेश्वरम्
evamuktaḥ sa mārkaṇḍaḥ kathayāmāsa yogavit | dhyātvā sanātanaṃ sarvaṃ devadevaṃ maheśvaram
Setelah disapa demikian, Mārkaṇḍa, sang arif dalam Yoga, pun mula berbicara; setelah bermeditasi kepada Maheśvara, Dewa segala dewa, Tuhan Yang Kekal, Yang merangkum segala-galanya.
Narrator (describing Mārkaṇḍeya)
Tirtha: Revā-kṣetra (contextual)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Pārtha (within the scene)
Scene: Mārkaṇḍeya sits in meditation with matted locks, eyes half-closed; behind him a subtle vision of Maheśvara as Devadeva, serene and all-pervading, with the riverbank setting.
Purāṇic instruction is grounded in contemplation of Śiva; right teaching is presented as arising from dhyāna and yogic insight.
No site is named; the verse serves as a devotional preface within the Revā Khaṇḍa.
Dhyāna (meditation) upon Maheśvara is implied as the spiritual preparation for true discourse.
