लिङ्गप्रतिष्ठा-माहात्म्यम् / The Greatness of Liṅga Installation
अशुद्धं चैव शुद्धं यच्छुद्धाशुद्धं च तत्त्रिधा । ततः शिवो महेशश्च रुद्रो विष्णुः पितामहः
aśuddhaṃ caiva śuddhaṃ yacchuddhāśuddhaṃ ca tattridhā | tataḥ śivo maheśaśca rudro viṣṇuḥ pitāmahaḥ
Prinsip tertinggi itu sesungguhnya tiga rupa: yang tidak suci, yang suci, dan yang bercampur (suci dan tidak suci). Daripadanya muncul fungsi kosmik beserta dewa-dewa penguasanya: Śiva, Maheśa, Rudra, Viṣṇu, dan Pitāmaha (Brahmā).

It frames reality in a threefold way—impure, pure, and mixed—then shows how the manifest divine roles (including Brahmā and Viṣṇu) proceed from that principle, with Śiva as the supreme ground in Shaiva understanding.
By teaching that the many divine names and functions arise from one source, it supports Saguna worship (Linga/Śiva-forms) as an approach to the transcendent Śiva who underlies pure, impure, and mixed states.
Contemplate the threefold condition of bondage and purity while repeating the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), aiming to move from mixed/impure conditioning toward purity and Śiva-realization.
