Tattva Level: pati

Shiva Form: Mahādeva

Sthala Purana: Not a site-specific (sthala) passage; it is a general phalaśruti-style assurance that the Śaiva upāya previously taught yields both worldly (aihika) and transcendent (āmuṣmika) results.

Significance: Frames Śiva-upāsanā as universally efficacious for both bhoga (worldly welfare) and mokṣa-oriented ends, encouraging faith (śraddhā) in the upāya.

FAQs

It declares the all-accomplishing power of Shaiva devotion and practice: by taking refuge in Shiva (Pati), both worldly aims and the highest otherworldly goal—freedom from bondage—become attainable.

It supports the Purana’s teaching that Saguna worship—especially Shiva’s Linga as a concrete focus for devotion—functions as an effective means (upaya) through which Shiva grants both visible benefits and transcendent grace.

It points to the efficacy of the Shaiva sadhana described in the surrounding context—typically Linga-puja with mantra-japa (notably the Panchakshara), supported by disciplines like bhasma (Tripundra) and Rudraksha where prescribed.
