सर्वेश्वर-परमकारण-निरूपणम् / The Supreme Lord as the Uncaused Cause
हरिश्चाहं च रुद्रश्च तथान्ये च सुरासुराः । तपोभिरुग्रैरद्यापि तस्य दर्शनकांक्षिणः
hariścāhaṃ ca rudraśca tathānye ca surāsurāḥ | tapobhirugrairadyāpi tasya darśanakāṃkṣiṇaḥ
“Viṣṇu, aku, dan Rudra, demikian juga para dewa dan asura yang lain—hingga hari ini pun, dengan tapa yang keras, tetap mendambakan darśana, penglihatan suci akan Dia.”

Significance: Establishes that even Brahmā, Viṣṇu and Rudra aspire for the Supreme Lord’s darśana; inspires humility and bhakti as the true means to vision.
It teaches that even the highest cosmic powers—Vishnu, Brahma, and Rudra—yearn for the supreme Reality’s darshana, showing that liberation and true knowing depend on divine grace approached through disciplined tapas.
The longing for “darshana” aligns with Saguna upasana—seeking the Lord’s manifest presence (often through Linga worship)—as a means to receive grace and realize the transcendent (Nirguna) truth behind all forms.
The verse points to sustained tapas: japa of Shiva-mantras (especially the Panchakshara, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), meditation on Shiva, and disciplined vows—performed to purify the pashu (bound soul) and become fit for the Lord’s darshana.
