Dalam kalangan mereka ada seorang bernama Vipracitti, berdaya besar dan gagah perkasa. Puteranya ialah Dambha—berpegang pada dharma, seorang bhakta Viṣṇu, serta menundukkan segala inderianya.

It highlights that true spiritual power is not merely physical might but also dharma and indriya-jaya (sense-mastery); even in a battle narrative, the Purana marks inner discipline as a sign of spiritual maturity under Pati’s (Shiva’s) overarching order.
Though the verse names a Viṣṇu-bhakta, the Shiva Purana’s wider frame teaches that all devotions operate within Shiva’s cosmic governance; sense-control and righteousness are prerequisites for fruitful Saguna worship (including Linga-upasana) and for receiving Shiva’s grace.
The implied practice is indriya-nigraha supported by japa and vrata—e.g., steady mantra-japa (such as the Panchakshara, Om Namaḥ Śivāya, in Shaiva practice) with disciplined conduct—since conquering the senses is explicitly praised.
