Hymn to Devī Yogānidrā and the Manifestation of Caṇḍikā
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Rudra
Role: liberating
The verse emphasizes that Śiva’s manifestation as Rudra is an act of grace: the independent Parameśvara assumes a knowable form and name specifically to uplift devotees, showing that devotion is met by divine intervention leading toward liberation.
By stating that Śiva becomes known as Rudra ‘in complete form,’ the verse supports Saguna worship: the transcendent Lord compassionately takes an accessible manifestation so devotees can worship—whether through the Liṅga (symbolic presence) or personal forms like Rudra.
A practical takeaway is bhakti-centered japa and contemplation of Śiva as Rudra—especially repeating the Panchākṣarī mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with the intent of surrender, trusting the Lord’s svātantrya (sovereign grace) to uplift the devotee.
