Hymn to Devī Yogānidrā and the Manifestation of Caṇḍikā
Satī (speaking about Lord Śiva/Śambhu)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Satī
Role: nurturing
It expresses śaraṇāgati (total surrender): Satī affirms Śiva as Parabrahman—nirguṇa and nirvikāra—and positions the soul’s ideal stance as obedient service to Pati (the Lord), which in Shaiva Siddhanta supports liberation through His grace.
Though Śiva is declared nirguṇa in essence, devotees approach Him through saguna forms such as the Śiva-liṅga; the verse bridges philosophy and practice by teaching that all worship culminates in surrender to the Lord’s will, beyond form while supported by form.
Practice devotional surrender while doing Śiva-pūjā—mentally offer all actions to Śambhu, repeat the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), and maintain the attitude of being under His command (ājñā), which purifies the ego and steadies meditation.
