FAQs

It highlights dharmic gratitude: when auspicious guidance is heard and accepted, joy naturally expresses itself as righteous giving (dakṣiṇā), which purifies intention and supports sacred duty—an outer sign of inner devotion aligned with Shaiva dharma.

In Saguna Shiva worship, devotion is not only mental but also enacted through honoring Shiva’s dharmic order—supporting Vedic rites, teachers, and priests. Such offerings become ancillary acts (upacāras) that sustain a disciplined devotional life around Shiva’s worship.

The verse suggests the practice of dakṣiṇā/dāna after worship or rite—giving with prīti (loving intent). As a takeaway, conclude Shiva pūjā with a grateful offering (as feasible) and a brief remembrance of the Panchākṣarī, offering the fruit of the act to Śiva.
