Wahai tuan yang perkasa! Walau dia bermegah dengan persahabatannya dengan Maheśvara (Śiva), Lokapāla yang sangat kuat itu tetap ditundukkan oleh tuan dalam pertempuran yang menyala oleh murka.
"O King! Proud of his friendship with Lord Maheshwara (Siva), that mighty ruler of the world Kubera was subdued by you in the conflict."
The verse implicitly warns against pride (ahaṅkāra): boasting of divine association is not Dharma; true worth is measured by righteous conduct, not by claims of proximity to power.
Rāvaṇa recalls earlier feats, claiming he subdued Kubera in battle despite Kubera’s supposed reliance on Śiva’s friendship.
Not a virtue but a showcased trait: Rāvaṇa’s martial arrogance and self-aggrandizement, which contrasts with the Ramayana’s ideal of humility aligned with Dharma.
