Trisira’s Counsel and the Slaying of Naranthaka
स वानरान् सप्तशतानिवीरःप्रासेनदीप्तेनन्वििर्बिभेद ।एकःक्षणेनेन्द्ररिपुर्महात्माजघानसैन्यंहरिपुङ्गवानाम् ।।।।
sa vānarān sapta-śatāni vīraḥ prāsena dīptena nirbibhēda | ekaḥ kṣaṇenendra-ripur mahātmā jaghāna sainyaṃ hari-puṅgavānām ||
Maka pahlawan agung Narāntaka, musuh Indra, dengan tombak yang menyala-nyala telah menikam dan memecahkan tujuh ratus Vānara; dalam sekelip mata sahaja, beliau menumbangkan bala tentera para pemimpin kera yang terunggul.
Great hero (Naranthaka) single handed persistently destroyed seven hundred Vanaras with his glowing spear. In that way the enemy of Indra shattered Vanara army and monkey leaders.
Dharma in war includes recognizing the cost of conflict; the narrative underscores urgency to restrain destructive power when it threatens the righteous side.
Narāntaka wreaks heavy damage on the Vānara forces with his spear.
On the dharmic side, endurance under sudden loss; on the antagonist’s side, formidable martial prowess.
