कुम्भकर्णविबोधनम्
The Awakening of Kumbhakarna
ततस्तृप्तइतिज्ञात्वासमुत्पेतुर्निशाचराः ।शिरोभिश्चप्रणम्यैनंसर्वतःपर्यवारयन् ।।।।
tatas tṛpta iti jñātvā samutpetur niśācarāḥ | śirobhiś ca praṇamya enaṃ sarvataḥ paryavārayan ||
Kemudian, setelah mengetahui bahawa baginda telah kenyang, para rākṣasa pengembara malam itu bangkit, menundukkan kepala bersujud, lalu mengepung baginda dari segala arah.
There upon the night rangers realizing that he got up, came before him, and greeted him with heads bent down.
Even among adversarial figures, the verse highlights disciplined conduct—showing deference and orderly attendance to one regarded as a superior, reflecting social duty (maryādā) and hierarchy.
After Kumbhakarṇa’s satisfaction/settling (post-waking), the rākṣasas stand up, salute him, and gather around to attend to him.
Collective discipline and respect (vinaya) shown by the attendants through bowing and formal presence.
