Praise of Rama’s Virtues and the Decision on the Heir-Apparent
Thus endowed with such excellent qualities, the subjects in the three worlds held him in high esteem. In forbearance he was like the earth, in wisdom like Brihaspati and in prowess like the consort of Sachi (Indra).
Dharma in leadership is a synthesis: patience and forgiveness (earth-like endurance), wise counsel (Bṛhaspati-like intellect), and protective strength (Indra-like valor).
The narration presents cosmic-scale approval of Rāma’s virtues, framing him as universally fit for sovereignty.
Forbearance (kṣamā) as a royal virtue, balanced with wisdom and prowess.
