Narada (teaching within the Narada–Sanatkumara dialogue frame)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It prescribes a disciplined japa-sequence placed on an eight-petalled lotus, aligning the practitioner with powers of creation, victory, righteous governance, freedom from anger, and protection of dharma.
Bhakti is expressed here as nāma-japa performed with ritual clarity (on the aṣṭapatra), where devotion becomes steady through repeated remembrance of auspicious divine functions—victory, dharma, and inner calm (akopa).
It reflects a technical, procedural approach to mantra-practice—ordered recitation and placement on a lotus diagram—showing the Narada Purana’s Vedanga-style emphasis on correct method in japa and ritual arrangement.
