प्रसादं कुरु मे भौममंगलप्रद मंगल । मेषवाहन रुद्रात्मन्देहि पुत्रान्धनं यशः ॥ ११२ ॥
prasādaṃ kuru me bhaumamaṃgalaprada maṃgala | meṣavāhana rudrātmandehi putrāndhanaṃ yaśaḥ || 112 ||
Wahai Bhauma (Marikh), yang mulia lagi pemberi keberkatan, limpahkan rahmat kepadaku. Wahai penunggang Aries, berjiwa Rudra, kurniakanlah anak lelaki, harta dan nama yang harum.
Narada (teaching/reciting a Mars propitiation mantra within a Vedanga/astrological-ritual context)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: vira
It is a graha-prasāda prayer: the devotee seeks Maṅgala’s (Mars’) favor to remove adversity and to secure auspicious outcomes—especially progeny, prosperity, and honorable reputation—through reverent invocation.
Even within technical disciplines like Jyotiṣa, the verse emphasizes bhakti through humility and surrender—asking for “prasāda” (grace) from the invoked deity-form of the graha, rather than relying only on calculation or rite.
Jyotiṣa (a Vedāṅga) and graha-śānti practice: a specific mantra-style address to Bhauma/Maṅgala used for planetary propitiation to obtain desired life-results and mitigate Mars-related afflictions.
